Anansi loved fish but was too lazy to catch them. One day, he tricked the fish in the river, calling out:
“Close your eyes and sing while I count you for a festival feast!”
The fish believed him, singing as they swam into his basket. But just as Anansi prepared to run off, one clever fish opened its eyes and shouted, “He’s tricking us!” The fish leapt from the basket, and soon all the others escaped, splashing Anansi until he was soaked and empty-handed.
Lesson: Tricks can win for a moment, but truth always finds a way to escape.
